I was thinking of giving this place four stars, because I loved it, but am aware that rice pudding is some people's worst nightmare, but this is about my experience, so five stars it is. I was a bit travel-sick from being on buses all day and needed something mild and filling. This place was perfect. The service was incredible and the rice pudding was sweet and thick and creamy. It really hit the spot! If you like rice pudding, you'll live Rice to Riches. If you don't, I feel a little bit sorry for you, but it's New York... you'll find something to eat.

Rice to Riches is a must-visit for dessert lovers! This is not our first time here and when we crave some dessert and we are on the area , this is our go to spot. The best thing is that they let you taste before you buy (upto 3 samples) We tried the Rocky Road and Panna Cotta flavors - both were creamy, dreamy, and utterly delicious! Generous portions, silky smooth texture, and warm service make this spot a gem. They also serve coffee and have space to sit or stand to enjoy their offerings.

Before coming to Rice to Riches, I had maybe had rice pudding once or twice. I was surprised to hear from my friend that there was a place that served only rice pudding. I didn't realize there was so much variety! RICE PUDDING: Good! My friends and I shared a trio, one was coconut cream, one was Panna cotta, and one was French toast. The main issue was that they almost all looked the same, so it was funny sharing not really knowing what you were gonna get. My main complaint is that I wish there were more unique flavors, like things I would never put together (I'm a big fan of creative flavors). I did sample the cheesecake as well as the orange cranberry, I liked both. I would love to see a lemon or citrus type. Unfortunately, they were all out of the pumpkin. SERVICE: I appreciate how patient the staff working there were with me. They gave me three samples and when my friends and I couldn't decide, they offered another sample as a suggestion, which we ended up ordering (French toast). AMBIANCE: there are a couple of small round booths, and some tables that you can stand up. One thing I noticed within the ambience is that there are lots of decor within the space that is very fat positive. Little sayings like "no skinny bitches allowed". I thought they were fun and lighthearted, in a way that was both body positive, but not overly serious. The space is bright with white and red decor overall. OVERALL: I'll never doubt you again, rice pudding.

This place is dangerously good, I always make a point to stop by every time I visit the city! We came in at around 10pm on a Saturday night, it's pretty empty at this time - perfect for some quiet dine-in time. We got the epic portion to share between the two of us, which ended up being just the right amount of dessert. I got the pecan rice pudding with roasted peaches, and my partner got the vanilla rice pudding with roasted cherries. The pecan is a bit milder, and the vanilla is a lot sweeter in comparison. Both taste really good with the fruit toppings. Great place for a post-dinner snack!

Love love love this place! This establishment has been here for years, even before Covid. This is truly a unique spot to go to, with unlimited rice pudding options, it's so hard to choose from! You have to come back to try out everything. They do provide samples. I believe it's 3 now. I use to frequent here a lot before Covid, now it's like a favorite past time of mine to go visit whenever I'm in the area. Service is great, staff members are very helpful. There is seating available, with one bathroom in the back of the store. The decor is something different. Do try out when you are in the area!

When visiting Little Italy, you might want to skip the gelato parlors and shaved ice shops and grab a hearty bowl of rice pudding studded with chunks of chocolate chips. Rice to Riches was a must-visit on my cousin's holiday weekend itinerary. She's here visiting from Guyana, and as her host, I wanted to show her some of the city's most unique and buzzworthy spots. I'd seen this place recommended all over Instagram. The bright lights of the store caught our attention, and the food looked luminous in those reflective bowls. I thought to myself, I have to try this. But, based on past experiences, rice pudding has always been a missed opportunity for me. My biggest concerns? The texture and the taste. I had no interest in eating something that felt like slimy boogers with candy sauce on top. But Rice to Riches completely shattered those expectations. This has to be one of the best original spots in the city--one that fully lives up to its surging popularity. The moment we walked in, we were hit with the vibes. The space is a bright, quirky, candy-colored wonderland, the kind of place where you half expect Willy Wonka to pop out with a spoon and start handing out samples. And samples--there are so many samples. I tried six flavors before committing, and honestly, each one was better than the last. I've had my fair share of rice pudding over the years--Indian, Caribbean, even the deli-cup variety--but this is nothing like that. No weird gluey texture, no sad, bland spoonfuls. This is smooth, creamy, luxurious. Imagine ice cream's hip, health-conscious cousin who still knows how to have a good time. I landed on Tiramisu and Rocky Road with a topping called Spirit--basically caramelized crumble magic. My cousin chose French Toast and Coconut, and honestly, both were so good I almost wished we'd swapped cups halfway through (we didn't--family has limits). What really impressed me was the flavor intensity. You're not just tasting rice with a hint of something; these flavors are full-on experiences. The Tiramisu could almost pass for an actual tiramisu, with all the coffee and cocoa notes hitting just right. The Rocky Road had the perfect balance of creamy chocolate, marshmallows, and crunch, while the Spirit topping added a texture that makes you think, Oh, this is why people love parfaits. The service at Rice to Riches was just as impressive as the dessert itself. Despite the constant stream of customers, the place ran like a well-oiled machine. This spot is popular, and for good reason--people were coming in droves, snapping pictures, lounging, and debating their flavor choices. Even with the heavy traffic, the staff didn't miss a beat. There were at least four or five people working behind the counter when I visited, and every single one of them was attentive and accommodating. They made sure everyone, including me and my cousin, felt taken care of. What stood out the most was their patience. My cousin and I couldn't decide which flavors to choose (it's a big decision, okay?), but the staff let us sample a generous number of options without rushing us. They offered suggestions, answered questions, and genuinely seemed to care about making sure we left happy with our picks. It's rare to find a spot in the city that's so busy yet still takes the time to give each customer a personal experience. The staff here nailed it. They were friendly, understanding, and made the whole process smooth and enjoyable. Here's the kicker: the whole experience was shockingly affordable for Manhattan. My two-flavor cup with a topping came to $13. While it's not corner-store cheap, it's a bargain for dessert that feels like it belongs in a fancy Michelin-starred tasting menu. Plus, they're open until 11 PM, even on Sundays, which is practically unheard of for a dessert spot. Rice to Riches is the kind of place you take someone to when you want to impress--whether that's a cousin visiting from abroad, a date who doesn't care about calorie counts, or yourself, because self-care sometimes looks like a heaping cup of French Toast rice pudding. So yes, it's rice pudding. But it's also kind of life-changing. Five stars, no hesitation.

Haven't been here in years! I was craving something sweet and quickly thought of this place. My husband never had it and thought it was weird that I wanted rice pudding. We ordered all in Epic sizes: - i gotta the panna cotta - secret life of pumpkin - chocolate chip flirt - man-made mascarpone - whipped cream topping - baked cherries - pound cake topping The service is fast, and the place is always clean. The pudding is as consistent as it was when I had it years ago. There were a bunch of new flavors that i hadn't tried before. I do recommend this place.

I've been to Rice to Riches twice now, and both visits have been really enjoyable. The concept is so unique--who knew a whole place dedicated to rice pudding could have so many options! One thing I love is that you can sample the different toppings and flavors before deciding, which makes it super easy to find something you like. Plus, it's customizable, or you can just pick something straight off the menu. Check out the seasonal offerings as well! Every time I've been there, the lines moved pretty fast, so you don't end up waiting long, even when it's busy. However, one downside is that there's not *always* a quiet place to sit and enjoy your rice pudding, so if you're looking for a more relaxed vibe, you might want to take it to go. The containers are reusable, too, which is a nice touch. Last time I went, my friend and I shared the Coconut Coma Rice Pudding, and it was such a great, delicious snack. It's the perfect spot for a quick, sweet treat, especially if you're a fan of creamy, rich desserts! I will be returning!
